Storm of 12/1/11

Well this wind storm Thur Davis county seemed to have hit people pretty hard. It started on Wednesday night and into Thursday. Our family sleep Thur most of it, but when we woke up you could hear the wind knocking this over all over the place. Jason went o work and I got the kids ready for school. As I drove them to school the damage was everywhere and the wind was blowing so hard it felt like it could lift your car and tip it over. Scary ride to school. As soon as I got home the power had gone out and some of the schools in the neighborhood were without power so they had been canceled. I called Legacy to see how my kids were doing and they said that everything was fine, they had power and not much wind down there. So Lexi and I stayed in the house all day opened the blinds and tried to clean and color pictures hoping the power would soon come on. Around 2 o'clock it was about time to pick up the boys from school and I was also supposed to watch Kayla and Bella, so we decided to go to there house instead of having them come to our cold dark house. It was such a blessing to have a nice warm home to go to and spend the evening. Before we drove out there I looked around our house to see the damage we sustained from the winds. IT had blown over a garbage can that had bricks on top of it. IT also blew off the shingles that were just installed on the roof of the shed we had just built in the back yard. they were everywhere. By the time Jason had arrived home from work they was still not power. So late that night instead of coming home in the cold and dark. We stayed in South Jordan and sleep over at my in laws house. It was such a blessing to have family so willing to open their house to us in our time of need. Jason although thought it would be an adventure to sleep without power, so he stayed home. The power was eventually restored and we came home. The boys school Legacy prep was holding school the next while most of the other schools in Davis county still did not have power. So I did not send my kids to school, Alexis did not have s=preschool either. We spent most of the next day cleaning in and out of our house. Jason installed tarp over the shed to prevent and snow or rain coming into the shed. As we have looked around at the damage sustained from the devastating storm we are sot very bleed to have such blessings of health and strength, and to have received such minimal damage. I thank especially my Heavenly Father for watching over us. It is now Sunday and our ward has elected to only having Sacrament today. All the men and some women are out cleaning up our neighborhoods. My wonderful husband and two boys are also involved in this wonderful service. I am so grateful for their kindess and love. This will be a day to remember of the disaster we went through and how the community banded together to help one another. May we always remember the wonderful blessing we have everyday and who we need to give our thanks to for all we have, our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ.

Well today is New Year's so I am going to try something new. Hopefully I can stick with it. So I am going to post something today.

I so don't get this blog site. I try to put pictures on but can't figure it out. So I will just right. Like every year I try to make some resolutions which I am hoping I can stick too. It is not much of a resolution but a life change. I am hoping it will be an improvement.

Today Owen got up and 5:00am with a major tooth ache. I was so exhausted because I had went to bed last night at 1:00 in the morning. Last night I went to the hospital to see my new neice. After my sister and I went to the movies we went and saw Inkheart, we were the only two people in the theatre. Well back to Owen I sent him to school anyway and he called me from school crying around 10:00 saying how much his tooth hurt. I got him an appointment with the Dentist at 11:30. That was going to be cutting is real close because I also had a guy at my house fixing my leather couch and I had to take Logan and Taylor to Preschool at 12:30. What a busy day. The good news Owen does not have any cavities. The dentist said he must have bite on something hard or he grinds his teeth because the tooth that was bothering him is loose, it is a baby tooth but it is not ready to come out. So now we just wait and hope it gets better.

By the way my couch looks great. It took the guy almost two hours to complete the work but I am pretty happy with the results. Although I did find out that not all of my leather sectional is leather most of it is vinyl. No wonder I got such and good deal on the couch. Oh well at least I didn't invest that much money to just have my kids destroy it right.

Last night I went to the LDS hospital to welcome the new addition to our extended family. London Marie Smith, my neice. My brother Kody was so excieted to show her off to everyone, she looks just like him. Although I don't think my sister in law was doing that great. After having a c section her recovery will be slow and hard. Her water broke yesterday morning aroud 6:00am and she went to the hospital and they started her on the pit. After almost 18 hours she didn't progress past a four so they called the doctor and did a c section. She weighed in at 6lb 3 oz.

Isn't she cute with those chubby checks. I just love babies, although I know I could not have anymore they grow up too fast.

Las Vegas

My husband and I just got back from our trip to Las Vegas. It was our 10th wedding anniversary, on Feb 6. Getting ready for the trip was really stressful, but once we got there it was great. Over all it was a wonderful trip to be with Jason and not have to worry about anything except where we were going to eat. Although when we first got to Las Vegas we grabber our bags and went to get a cab, I pulled my wallet out of my purse which was totally full of crap. I put some cash in my pocket and held onto my wallet so it wouldn't get lost. Which is totally ironic because I did end up losing my wallet. I think I left it in the cab, but I can't be sure. When we got to the Hotel to check in I couldn't find my wallet and I was frantic. I went outside to see if the cab driver came back around to bring back my wallet fat chance. Luckily we had no problem checking in because we had already paid. We went to our room and I started calling every cab company in the phone book which by the way there are about a million. No luck. I was mostly worried about my ID. I had purchased some tickets to go see some shows and I needed ID to verify that I had bought them, also I needed my ID to get back on the airplane to go home. Later I felt in my pocket that I had put my ID in there after we had showed it to the ticket agent at the airport. After that I was so relived. We called the credit card companies and cancled the credit cards. They were kind enough to overnight us and new so we wern't totally stranded. After that exciting episode our trip was a blast.

Thur. night we went and saw The Kings Tornament at Excalibur. which is a dinner show. That was tons of fun, although the food was not that great. The next day we just hung out in the hotel most of the day then we went walking aroud and some shops and then later we went to dinner at the MGM grand, after we went and saw KA which is a circdesole I totally didn't spell that right, but you know what I mean. That show was awesome it was os cool the way those people can fly around on bungee cords and do all kinds of tricks. Then on Sat. it rained pretty heavy all day Jason spent most of the day in the casino, playing the slot machines while I went shopping at the M &M store, (4 floors). We finally flew home that night the flight was so bumpy Jason I were sick the rest of the night. Over all it was a great trip Just enough time to get away from reality and enjoy some quality time with my wonderful husband.

Long day

Today was a long day. First trying to clean up the house and get the kids to do their chores is a chore in itself. This is my children cleaning their room. I think they made a bigger mess than what they werer trying to clean up. Well they finally got it done and we went and ran errands while I screamed and yelled at them in the store. We later went to my sister - in - laws to give her the baby saucer so she can use it after her baby comes. Which I had to wash again because Lexi got it and pooped so gross. But I got it cleaned and sanitized to give away. Then a 5:00 The Ayala's came over and I babysat them. It was really wild but also fun at the same time, my kids love to play with them so it was great fun. Now I am ready for bed and a new day.
