Well this wind storm Thur Davis county seemed to have hit people pretty hard. It started on Wednesday night and into Thursday. Our family sleep Thur most of it, but when we woke up you could hear the wind knocking this over all over the place. Jason went o work and I got the kids ready for school. As I drove them to school the damage was everywhere and the wind was blowing so hard it felt like it could lift your car and tip it over. Scary ride to school. As soon as I got home the power had gone out and some of the schools in the neighborhood were without power so they had been canceled. I called Legacy to see how my kids were doing and they said that everything was fine, they had power and not much wind down there. So Lexi and I stayed in the house all day opened the blinds and tried to clean and color pictures hoping the power would soon come on. Around 2 o'clock it was about time to pick up the boys from school and I was also supposed to watch Kayla and Bella, so we decided to go to there house instead of having them come to our cold dark house. It was such a blessing to have a nice warm home to go to and spend the evening. Before we drove out there I looked around our house to see the damage we sustained from the winds. IT had blown over a garbage can that had bricks on top of it. IT also blew off the shingles that were just installed on the roof of the shed we had just built in the back yard. they were everywhere. By the time Jason had arrived home from work they was still not power. So late that night instead of coming home in the cold and dark. We stayed in South Jordan and sleep over at my in laws house. It was such a blessing to have family so willing to open their house to us in our time of need. Jason although thought it would be an adventure to sleep without power, so he stayed home. The power was eventually restored and we came home. The boys school Legacy prep was holding school the next while most of the other schools in Davis county still did not have power. So I did not send my kids to school, Alexis did not have s=preschool either. We spent most of the next day cleaning in and out of our house. Jason installed tarp over the shed to prevent and snow or rain coming into the shed. As we have looked around at the damage sustained from the devastating storm we are sot very bleed to have such blessings of health and strength, and to have received such minimal damage. I thank especially my Heavenly Father for watching over us. It is now Sunday and our ward has elected to only having Sacrament today. All the men and some women are out cleaning up our neighborhoods. My wonderful husband and two boys are also involved in this wonderful service. I am so grateful for their kindess and love. This will be a day to remember of the disaster we went through and how the community banded together to help one another. May we always remember the wonderful blessing we have everyday and who we need to give our thanks to for all we have, our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ.
